This blog runs on Hugo on a VPS I already pay for. No Substack, no Medium, no algorithm. Just markdown on disk and a static generator.

The workflow is deliberate: write, build, push. Every commit is a deployment. The CI pipeline runs hugo --minify and pushes to the web server. If the build breaks, nothing goes live. That’s a feature — broken posts don’t publish.

I chose this stack because it’s mine. No platform can deprecate my content, change my algorithm, or sell my audience. The trade-off is manual work: I write, I build, I push. But the work is infrequent enough that it doesn’t bother me.

The voice matters more than the tech. First-person, direct, evidence-based. If a paragraph doesn’t earn its place, it goes. No filler, no corporate speak, no “in today’s fast-paced world.” Just thinking on paper.

This is the first post. The infrastructure was ready; the content wasn’t. That changes now.
